- Saturday/Sunday 14th-15th June 2008 - Lord and Butler Model Railways
Open weekend to celebrate their 10th Anniversary, featuring Bachmann Europe Ltd, plus Rimenough with Simon Evans and Maindee Road East. All club members welcome to visit the Pumping Station, Penarth Road, Cardiff CF11 8TT.
- Saturday 28th June 2008 - DEMU Day in the clubrooms.
All members of the Diesel and Electric Modellers United (DEMU) are invited to bring their British outline diesel and electric models to run on Holton Junction (OO gauge) or Machynlleth (N gauge). All Barry & Penarth members welcome to attend, others strictly by invitation only.
- Sunday 6th July 2008 A memorial Model Railway Exhibition in the Paget Rooms in memory of the late Brian Scoulding. Date now confirmed by Penarth Town Council. Five of the layouts built by Brian have been located and will be displayed in their current form, together with supporting layouts and exhibits. All proceeds will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association. This show is part of the Penarth Festival.
- Saturday 12th July 2008 Red Dragon Day in the Clubrooms
All NMRA members invited to bring their HO-american models to run on Holton Junction.
All Barry & Penarth members welcome to attend, others strictly by invitation only.
- Saturday 26th July 2008 - 4th Annual Porthcawl Model Railway Show at Trinity Methodist/United Reformed Church in John Street, Porthcawl, now a one day show. The club is supporting the show with Walker's Ridge, a North American short line, complete with a 'wye' for turning locos. This was built by Brian Scoulding in memory of Bill Walker and given by him to the club before his untimely death. The extension and modification has been produced by Mike Rimes with help from Vanessa.
- Sunday 10th August 2008 - Aberaeron Model Railway Show have invited us again this year. SCHARPS Park has been offered. A second layout, Penthar Bay, has been accepted as well. David, John and Bernard will need some assistance on the Sunday.

- Sat/Sun 27th - 28th September 2008 - The Lydney Model Railway Show - Addersleigh Junction has been invited. Assistance from club members will be required on both days.
- Saturday-Sunday 11th - 12th October 2008 Railex in Tauton.
Simon's layout Rimenough has been invited. He will be supported by other club members on both days.

Wigan Finescale Railway Modellers - Wigan Model Railway Exhibition . Devil's Creek has been invited. Vanessa and Mike will be supported by two other members for this weekend.
